My friend is working in Mexico and he gets part of his salary in India and income tax is deducted in India for the indian salary, my question is, do he need to pay taxes in India even if he is not living here for complete financial here? I am asking this on his behalf as I might travel to Mexico and get into the same situation. Please clarify. Thanks.

Thanks Ashal bhai, I got one question after this, what will be the impact on NRE FDs, I am currently a NRI and have NRE FDs.

Dear Frinancial friend, as the friend in question is getting his salary in India, this Indian income is liable to tax in India. Being NRI is tax beneficial only for your global income. Indian Income is still taxable in India, be it from salary, rent, business, investment, interest…..

    Thanks

    Ashal
