Credit card not applied, still name appear in cibil

The basic reason to come to this forum is to understand, whether there is any way out to deal with this situation, some one probably from hsbc or their agent visited our office during 2003-04.

While exchanging cards we came to know that he offers credit card. We denied. But to our surprise there comes the credit card after one month. No request has been given to issue credit card, it has never been used, no document provided except exchange of visiting card to the visiting person to office probably from hsbc.

After one year they started sending bills for outstanding and levying all sort of charges. and there after they have reported same to cibil. Funniest part is cibil has entered the case based on only bank’s intimation without even verifying credentials that the instrument has never been requested for, nor used, but as of now from 2005 an individual’s credit limit stands spoiled. My daughter expects admission to iim and I need education loan, which I can’t avail.

Who can be held responsible for spoiling her carrier, Where to go?? Whom to contact ??? All sort of systems are being created but there is no redressed available. Someone pl helps?? For last more than 07-08 years this has been an spoiled credit score record which became known when I applied for an auto loan in 2009.

    Manish,

As u know I approached to SCB under copy to RBI, as they were the issuer, and they have now acknowledged informing me that they are taking appropriate corrective action at CIBIL also, which may take 45 day to up date status.

I insisted to keep me posted on the process of action being taken to which they denied and requesting me to wait.

DUE TO THEIR INAPPROPRIATE REPORTING TO CIBIL MY CASE AS DEFAULTER I HAVE LOST ALMOST 07 YEARS FOR BEING INELIGIBLE FOR CREDIT AND LOST MANY OPPORTUNITIES.

Could any body suggest what action I should take at this time as this is a big loss of time and opportunity for any body.

    Thanks

Manish, After so many years, where I would go to file a case? Even Banking lokpal could come for my rescue.

Only hitch is that I don’t have any particulars of that card no. , fix dates etc. so how to approach without them??

However I would like to know the basis for acceptance of a complain by CIBIL from FI/ BANK??

Are they not suppose to verify the individuals records apart from FI/ BANK complaints before they SPOIL CREDIBILITY OF AN INDIVIDUAL ??
    IS THERE ANY RECOURSE AVAILABLE???

ANY BODY CAN GUIDE ME TO DEAL WITH THE SITUATION W/O LEGAL COURSE…

    Thanks

This is a case of fraud from the person who took your card . Mostly he has forged the signature and issued the credit card. You need to file a case against the credit card company and pursue a legel case . You should also demand a heavy compensation for this.
