I want to know know what is claim process in any unfortunate event?
What are the documents needed?
Kindly give the answer in details so that everyone can explain the claim procedure to his/her dependent.

My question is regarding Life Insurance Policy (Term plan).
Do one need to give the death cerificate in original? If yes,then how can we give 2 original certificate if one had taken 2 policies from different Ins. companies??
According to IRDA in how many days Ins.Company have to settle the claim?

I am assuming that your query is with regards to the claim process for Life Insurance & Not General Insurance.
For Life Insurance, you would need to contact the respective life insurance company and request them for the claim form. It has to be done within a specific number of days (generally less than a month). The documents in case of all insurance companies are the same, though each insurance company can have specific requirements. The general docs are:
1. Death certification;
2. Claim form in specific format;
3. Policy document;
You must request your agent / insurance company to give you the details. Insurance companies give the details on their website. For example, in case of LIC, the documents are http://www.licindia.in/policy_conditions.htm#14 (go into the section death claims).
