CIBIL Issue with my 8 yrs old credit card – NO SUIT FILED

POSTED BY prakashisin ON April 2, 2014 10:42 pm COMMENTS (4)

Hello Manish,

I am Prakash From Bangalore, My current CIBIL score is 726, I wanted to apply for a home loan, however one of my old ICICI credit card (issued in 2006) showing the Current Balance as 64,000 and Status Shows as “NO SUIT FILED” (Not sure what this means), will this affect my loan approval?

please let me know if I should contact ICICI directly and clear the entire amount or should I ask for reducing the interest added so far, settling the due has any impact in my Credit score? which is better – Clear all outstanding or settlement?

Also I got a call from Credit Sudhaar, they claim to help us in clearing the CIBIL rating and asking for a registration fee of 15K, is this genuine?

Please provide me your feedback.

Thanks,

Prakash

    Dear Prakash,

We would suggest that you contact ICICI bank and repay the complete outstanding amount. Do not opt for any waiver/settlement as this would be reflected on your credit report. Settlements indicate your inability to service a loan and hence could hinder your loan application.

After repaying to ICICI bank, ensure that you obtain an NOC for the same and the remark “No suit filed” is removed from your credit report.
