Changes/Restructuring required on Jagoinvestor blog and Forum ?

POSTED BY Jagoinvestor ON December 25, 2010 9:54 pm COMMENTS (8)

I am looking for feedback/suggestions on what all changes/removals/additions are required on the main blog at jagoinvestor.com and also on this forum which will help in user experience and add more value for readers .

Please suggest whatever comes to your mind . Some of the points I have in mind are

A. Dedicated pages for

  1. Term plan features and comparision
  2. Health Insurance features and comparison chart
  3. Best Mutual funds in each category

All of these pages need an update each month .

B)  A dedicated page for downloads , It can have ebooks , good excel templates etc ..

C) A dedicated section for readers experiences about some product company and useful tips and tricks they know , This can be a seperate section or subfolder on the blog like jagoinvestor.com/downloads

D) Any changes needed to be done on Archive page to make it more informative or easy to find articles ? I have good ideas to make it more categorised , but you give your views !

E) I want to know what all parts are irritating and “can be removed” on blog and this forum . Better to get rid of unproductive stuff ! .

Just suggest what comes to your mind , just make sure what you suggest should be vali for majority and not just a handful 🙂

whether on main blog or forum, there could be a section, where a member can speak about any complaint/grievance not redressed by the concerned for a long time, or a member can voice about a provision guided by the regulator, but irritating the investor.

It would be great if you can change the forum to BB style which is more organized and easier to navigate with different sections.

Would be good if you can dedicate area for live examples –
Such as people who have been saving / investing can put their real time investment details in Tabular form ( ofcourse do not display your name & passwords ) , in cut & paste form to show some new first time investors how that particular product works in term of investment & returns .How the small amount invested over a log period of time in different products can yield good returns .

Also please offer one free Financial planing for a family as free gift from Jagoinvestor .How it is worked out , i mean the working of it in a flow chart form in complete details .

Also one part on how to take that first step in investing .I mean to motivate people not only to save but to invest in few easy steps .

These all for the new first time investor .

Also, please start updating news.jagoinvestor.com ! And also provide a link for that, maybe a window.

Refrain from using the term “best” mutual fund. There is no single best, you know it. LIke you do with the comparison, and you have done in the past, present a number of “good” funds.

    Hi Manish,

    Couple of suggestions:

    (1) I think we can add Poll section to check what forum/blog readers think about?

    (2) Layout can be changed to use all the space so that more information is displayed.

    Regards

    Atul
