   Let me rephrase the question as Which of these 2 funds has given(past performance in a market cycle) and has the potential to give stable returns in a market cycle.

      Dear Waris, the question is still same, How much is too much? My much may be very different from your much? Somehow I feel, you should not go ahead in any Eq. MF or even balanced fund either. Hybrid funds with low Eq. exposure like HDFC MIP LTP or Reliance MIP should be your vehicle. Why? Even balanced funds remain very high on Eq. 70-75% at most of the time, so I do not think this fulfills your requirement.
