Can I take health insurance from two companies ?

Is it possible and legal to have medical insurance cover with two insurers? The idea is to cover the expenses by splitting the cost between the two insurers.

    Dear Raja, you need to submit the photo copies of the bills and all papers with 2nd insurer along with a letter from 1st insurer stating the originals have been deposited with it.

    How do we claim insurance from 2 companies? Usually during claim, the company takes all original bills, reports etc. So in case you claim X amount from one company, you will have to submit all original papers to them. So how will you claim from the other company? Just wanted to understand the process involved
