Hi Ashal, My interest in personal finance started with JI when I accidentaly bumped on this forum 1 Yr back and since then I have started reading a lot of personal finance blogs including your :)..I read Pattu’s blog as well regularly, however I never tried his calculators.
I did after your suggestion and to be honest i am very confused with the number of retirement calculators he has on his blog, so I left a message to him to solve my query.Awaiting his response.
Nevertheless, I myself did a simulation on excel (assuming 8% inflation & 8% interest earned on corpus YOY), and I found that corpus of 2.7 Cr will last for 45 years, if I need 600,000 NOW for my yearly expenses. I did not add any tax angle to simplify the things. If you want I can share the excel file with you on your personal email and we can take this discussion onwards from there..
Thanks,
Aamir
Dear Amir, please visit the shared site and read few posts also there. I w’d like to read your reply/feedback after that. 🙂
Thanks
Ashal
Dear Aamir, I seriously doubt that you can retire comfortably. You need to check the same with some very good retirement calculators available at dear Pattu’s site.
freefincal. com
Please check there with your numbers.
Thanks
Ashal
Hi Ashal,
Thanks for your feedback. I will definitely check the calculator however the issue with most of these calculator is that they do tell you the target figure required but dont tell you what to do with that..how smartly you can use that retirement figure..this is is exactly what I am looking for..
Thanks anyway..
Regards,
Aamir
