Thnks Hemanth and Ashal for your suggestions, to begin with i m thinking of investing half the salary in RD may be SBI for 1 year , but is Tax deductions or Income tax applicable to it???? and also to PPF ??

Dear Shiv, can you define your long term? Is it 1Y or 2Y or 5Y or 30Y? Please be specific.

    Thanks

    Ashal

If you don’t want any risk, debt instruments are the best. For long term PPF is good. As you don’t have EPF yet, better start PPF.

For short term, opt for Fixed Deposits, Recurring Deposits which will help you inculcate the habit of saving.
