what all r the allowances exempted from defense salary?

    thanks for u r kind reply.deduction under vi-a is not 10480 it is 100480 this include all pf+ngis+inba(96000+24000+480).no other things

  2. Dear VibinDas, Please quote the allowances that are part of this defense salary. Only then anybody can tell the taxation status.

      1. Dear VibinDas, From the list of allowances following are tax free.

        1. Tpt – max. limit is 800 Rs. mly
        2. AWC-Al – full 375

        All other allowances are taxable.

          now my first question is remain for that i am attaching form 16 details.
          gross salary=414520,less allowance=kma(2332)+tpt(9600)=11932.total income=402588.dedation under VI-A=10480.tax pad=12577,
          in this case is any chance for me to get refund?
          with same status my friends getting around 5000 refund by filing their return through some private firm.
          is they doing legally?

          1. Dear VibinDas, the deduction under VI-A is 10480 or more, please confirm. The reason is – your PF, LIC policies prem. comes under VI-A. Please add all such things if any are there.
