    Hi Aishwariya,

Lets start answering your question one at a time.

1>for how long a card is made ? – I guess what you meant to ask is what’s the validity of the card. Well the answer is about 3 years from the date of issue. But again it may vary from one provider to another.

2>can i stop my card after its life or validity is over ? – When the validity of the card is over, we say the card has expired. The provider will automatically issue a fresh card and close the old card. You need not have to stop it. But its highly recommended that, when you dispose of your old card, then cut the card to pieces to avoid any misuse.

5>what amount should i have in my bank for a credit card ? – The credit card underwriting is largely done on the basis of your monthly income. So what’s important is your salary and not your bank balance. Different banks have different minimum income cut offs above which they issue a card. If your income is above 2 L P.A. you should be able to receive a card.

There are some credit card providers e.g. SBI which provide credit cards on the basis of the bank balance and your credit card limit is decided on the basis of the balances that you hold.

If you can try and rephrase your other questions, I might try and answer them.
