What is the impact of PSU bank merger on the shareholders ?

Hi, I have recently come across the news that govt is planning to merge smaller PSU banks into bigger banks. What is the impact on shareholders ? Please enlighten.

    Still nothing is official…. Let’s wait and watch till then…..

    If they merge, what will happen…. they will give the equivalent shares of the bank to which the old bank is merged….
