Dear Experts,

My Wife and I are currently planning to write a Will. I am not very confident to approaching a local lawyer with details of our financial assets.

Is it a good idea to go for an online website ( www.Vakilsearch.com ) for writing a will ?.Please let me know about the pros and cons of this approach. Also let me know if there are any other reputed online services available for writing a will.

Thanks And Regards,

Senthil Nathan

Dear Senthil, please post the question in Fb group and I ‘ll ask the person who had posted his earlier experience regarding Vakilsearch to share with you.

    Thanks

Dear Senthil, from your personal experience from Bank executives, Telecom people, Other sales executives, can you say with surety that the person on the other side was having all the info and knowledge?

I’m not saying that you ‘ll not get quality advice online. Yes, you may get but chances of getting half baked knowledge are also equal there for online. Please do not go by my words. Please join my FB group (Asan Ideas For Wealth). You ‘ll get a personal experience of WILL registration through online portal (Vakilsearch in this case). Instead of telling all the details here, I w’d like if you come and join us on FB so that the info come from the person himself, who faced the issues.

    Thanks

      Hi Ashal,

Yes.In most of the cases I am able to find out the depth of the knowledge of the sales person. The reason is that I do some groundwork before talking to a sales guy.

Anyways I have already registered in the FB group and tried to search regarding any posts on will. But came up with no results. Not sure if I am missing something here.I will post a question in the FB group.

      Thanks,

Dear Senthil, It’s your WILL – your own desire, how your estate should be divided among your beneficiaries once you are no more. No technicality in this. Still if you feel you do need an advocate, please do tell me how a local advocate ‘ll impact your estate if you use his/her services?

    Thanks

      Dear Ashal,

There are a lot of cases where a poorly written will may not address the requirements.

For E.g what will happen if a particular asset is not mentioned in the will or added at a later point ( after the will is written ) ?.What needs to be done if one of the beneficiaries is a minor during the execution of the will ?.How to handle international assets ?

A Professional advice is really worth the cost where the stakes are high.I do not rely on a local lawyer as I am unable to verify the knowledge depth of the lawyer in handling complex requirements.

Dear Senthil, you do not need a lawyer or any other onoine portal to write your own WILL. In case you want to register, then only you need a lawyer for registration job but certainly not for drafting part.

    Thanks
